A huge thank you to Anton's restaurant, Cash Wise Liquor, and singer/song-writer Anthony Perry for providing such a great opportunity for us to partner on the inaugural First Tuesday event on February 7th at Anton's.  Also, a special thank you to the volunteers from Kohl's who helped with registration, photos, etc.

We're so glad many of you could join us!  Thanks to you and these great community partners, we raised $1224!  All proceeds will benefit the children in our program.

THANKS FOR HELPING TO MAKE OUR EVENT A SUCCESS!

Many thanks to all who participated, promoted, sponsored, or in any way helped to make our 2011 Bowl For Kids' Sake a success!  Approximately $28,000  was raised and 320 bowlers participated in this year's event at Southway Bowl.

Funds received from this event are used to match the children in our program with a caring and carefully trained volunteer, who becomes their mentor, friend, and role-model.  Thank you for making a difference in the lives of the children of central Minnesota who need our help.

Open Access Connections
An opportunity to have a free voice mail line is now offered to families in our program

Who: Anyone who does not have a landline and does not have enough cell phone minutes. To receive a voice mail line through Big Brothers Big Sisters, you must currently be involved in our program. You can receive one line per family.

What: Open Access Connections is a collaborative effort of social service agencies that provides families without consistent phone/voice mail a free voice mail line to help with searching for employment, housing, healthcare and the delivery of social or legal services. This is also a service to receive safety from domestic abuse, and can be used in keeping in touch with family and friends. Finally, this is a great service to help families involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters communicate with their Big and the staff at BBBS.

How: It’s simple! Just call your Match Support Coordinator School/Site Based Coordinator and let them know you are interested. You will come into our office to be assigned your number that you can give to potential employers, healthcare providers, family, friends, etc. to ensure that people can get you a message when needed. We will walk you through the steps to get your personal voicemail all set up for use. This will include making your own personal greeting and you will be taught how to check your messages at any time from any touch tone phone.

NOTE: We are currently only offering this to individuals involved in our program.  Call your program staff today to find out more about this great opportunity!
