Bowl for Kids Sake 2010
Thanks to all who helped to make our 2010 Bowl For Kids' Sake a success! Approximately $28,000 was raised and more than 280 bowlers participated in this year’s event, held Oct 15 and 16 at Granite Bowl South.
Many local companies and service clubs formed teams and participated in the event including Coborn’s, ING Direct, Westside Sertoma, American Eagle, Leonard Street and Deinard, Rasmussen, CSB/SJU, Custom Accents, St. Cloud Times, Bernick’s, Grizzlys, St. Cloud Floral, St. Cloud Morning Optimist Club, Young Professionals Organization (YPO), and Great River Federal Credit Union. Bowlers had a great time, and many expressed their plans to come back again next year. Check out our website for a glimpse of the fun: bbbscentralmn.org
Congratulations to Coborn’s, Inc. for winning the Bowl For Kids’ Sake Challenge bringing in $6,085 in pledges/donations as a company. ING Direct did a superb job as well bringing in $4,030 in pledges. In the spirit of friendly rivalry, ING Direct has already invited Coborn’s to a “rematch” next year and Coborn’s has accepted their concession in hopes of inspiring other groups and businesses to join the challenge and help generate more support for the cause!
Congratulations, Holly Lee, for being the individual overall TOP PLEDGE GETTER with a WHOPPING $1,060 in donations. Holly won a 3-piece Pierre Cardin luggage set for bringing in the most pledges. SUPER JOB, Holly!!! A HUGE thank you to Jon Mott for serving as the emcee/comedian on Friday evening and Nathan Sindt and John Holaway for serving as emcee on Saturday. They did a fabulous job and brought extra energy and excitement to the event!
We are grateful to all who participated, promoted, sponsored, or in any way helped to make this fun-filled event a success. Funds generated from this fund-raiser are used to match the waiting children in our program with a caring and carefully trained volunteer, who becomes their mentor, friend, and role-model. The BBBS program changes lives, and impacts not only the children involved but also their family, classmates, and the community at large. Thank you for being a part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters magic!
A HUGE thank you to our Agency Sponsors and Event Sponsors!
