WHO IS A BIG?
Someone who cares, provides emotional support, and sense of caring.
Someone who guides they are people that become trusted and are depended upon and looked to for support by a child.
Someone who can start something for the future. Bigs are special, they share their life and give a child a new experience they may not have otherwise. You could be that person who simply starts something that will change a child for life.
After someone expresses an interest in becoming a Big, they go through an extensive background check and careful interview process.SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER
BIG MEETS LITTLE
Big Brothers Big Sisters targets the children who need us most, including those living in single parent homes, growing up in poverty and coping with parental incarceration. Matching begins with interviews, a comprehensive background screening for volunteers and with finding a great match between a Big and a Little based on location and personalities. Once the match is made we continue to have contact with the Big, Little, and the Little's parent/guardian to be sure everything is going well, answer questions, and help with any issues.
